THE OUTPOST

Leonardo Di Costanzo

World War One. In a trench carved out of the rock of Mount Pasubio a small platoon of Italian soldiers, little more than boys, is holed up, each one with his own dialect, each one with a different story.

Their mission is to recapture an outpost a few hundred meters away but an enemy sniper picks off each soldier who tried to approach one by one. The conviction that they are going off

to meet their certain deaths spreads panic among the young soldiers.
